The Wisconsin Section
The
Wisconsin Section of the Society was chartered in 1980, an expansion of
the Milwaukee Section, which had been chartered in 1973.
The Wisconsin Section includes all of Wisconsin except the environs
of the Twin Cities, as well as the western part of Michigan’s Upper
Peninsula (see the map in the logo).
As of July, 2004, the section has 122 members, a 60% growth over
the previous year.
In FY96 the Wisconsin Section was recognized as having the Largest
Net Membership Increase for a medium sized section, as well as having the
Best Membership Program for a medium section.
The Wisconsin Section repeated that second honor in FY97, as well
as winning the Corning Incentive Grant for its new science and technology
teaching aid, Elementary School Outreach Activities Kit.
In FY98 and FY99, the Section was recognized as having the Best
Strategic Communications Program for a medium-sized section.
